Purpose

The Schumacher Historical Society is interested in researching, collecting, preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting archival material that best illustrates the cultural and natural history of Schumacher and Tisdale Township in Ontario, Canada.

Donations & Acquisitions

Individuals and organizations are encouraged to donate Schumacher and Tisdale Township related archival material (i.e. photographs, documents, audio & visual recordings) for inclusion in the SHS digital archive.

The Schumacher Historical Society will only acquire donated archival material with a view to permanency in its digital archive collection and not with the intent of trading or selling. Digital archival material (i.e. photographs, documents, audio & visual recordings) will only be accepted if they are well documented or where subsequent research will establish their value for collection. The SHS digital archive will make every reasonable effort to ascertain the validity and provenance of donated archival material prior to acquiring legal title.

Note: The Schumacher Historical Society ‘does not provide appraisals’ for tax deduction or other external purposes.
